Why it's different up here
Frost is the one Sydney plumbers underestimate. Katoomba averages a 2.6 °C minimum through July and the Upper Mountains sits about 7 °C colder than Sydney. Water expands as it freezes, and an exposed pipe under a house or running up an outside wall is the one that splits. We carry the fittings that fail up here rather than driving back down the hill for parts.

What counts as a real emergency?
No water, water you cannot stop, sewage inside the house, or any smell of gas. Those are all call-now. A dripping tap or a slow drain can safely wait for a normal booking, and we would rather tell you that than charge you an after-hours rate for it.
What should I do before you arrive?
Find your water meter and turn the mains off. It is usually at the front boundary. For a suspected gas leak, turn the gas off at the meter, open the windows, leave the light switches alone, and get everyone outside first. Then call.
Do you charge more after hours?
After-hours work costs more than a weekday booking, and we will tell you the rate on the phone before we get in the van. No surprises when the invoice arrives.
