The plumbing is the part of a bathroom renovation that has to be right before anything pretty goes on top of it. Get the rough-in wrong and you find out after the tiling is done, which is the expensive way to find out.
We work alongside your builder and tiler, or straight with you if you are running the job yourself. Either way we set the sequence before anyone starts, so no trade stands around waiting on another.
What we handle
- Full rough-in: water, waste and vent
- Fit-off of all tapware, basins, toilets, baths and showers
- Relocating fixtures when the layout changes
- Waterproofing coordination with your tiler
- Floor waste and fall setting out
- Upgrading old galvanised or copper pipework while the walls are open
- Accessible and ageing-in-place modifications: grab rails, hobless showers
- Certificates of compliance at completion
Why it's different up here
Two things worth doing while the wall is open, in a house of this age. Replace any galvanised pipe left in the wall. Most Upper Mountains homes of a certain vintage still have some, and it causes the brown water and the poor pressure. And think about accessibility now rather than later: the median age in Katoomba is 48 and in Blackheath it is 53, and a hobless shower costs very little extra at rough-in and a fortune to retrofit.
The things people ask
Do you do the whole bathroom or just the plumbing?
The plumbing, rough-in and fit-off. We coordinate with your builder, tiler and waterproofer. If you do not have a team, we can point you at trades up here we work with.
How long does the plumbing take?
Rough-in takes a day or two, then we are back for fit-off once the tiling is done. The gap between depends on your tiler and the waterproofing cure time, not on us.
Can I supply my own tapware?
Yes. Just talk to us before you buy, some imported fittings do not meet the Australian WaterMark standard, so we cannot install them and you are left returning them.
